NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – In Norfolk, garbage, bulk, yard waste, and recycling services are suspended Friday due to inclement weather. Refuse container deliveries are also suspended.
Do not place bulk, yard waste, or containers at curbside until further notice. After the storm event, the city says collection will occur as soon as possible.
Public Works crews cancelled street sweeping Friday. Street sweeping was also suspended Thursday. This includes areas with and without street sweeping enforced parking signs. The department will attempt to reschedule street sweeping after this storm event.
Norfolk says its IMPACT Call Center will open for 24 hours through the weekend. Residents with non-emergency, city service related questions should call 664-6510.
In Portsmouth, bulk collection has been suspended immediately until further notice. Residents are being asked to not place bulk items out for collection.
Regular trash and recycling collection will continue Thursday and Friday, but weather conditions will be evaluated over the next few days regarding Monday collection.
