VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A person shot on 19th Street at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront early Monday morning is expected to recover, according to police.
Dispatchers tell WAVY.com officers received a call for a shooting at 19th Street and Atlantic Avenue just after midnight.
When they arrived on the scene officers found a person suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm. Medics transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim told police a group of two men and a woman tried to rob him. He said one of the suspects shot him during the robbery. The victim flagged down an HRT bus driver to call 911 for help.
The case remains under investigation. There have been no arrests.
