Police investigate shooting in South Norfolk

CHESAPEAKE, Va, (WAVY) — Chesapeake Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the South Norfolk section of the city Sunday night.

According to a news release from Chesapeake Police, officers responded to the area of Grady Street and Grady Crescent off Bainbridge Boulevard for reports of gunshots heard in the area.

When they arrived on the scene police found a man lying face down on the sidewalk who had been shot.

Medics transported the victim to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he is expected to recover.

Police say the suspect in the shooting was seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was seen leaving the area on foot towards Interstate 464.
