Police bust meth lab at Norfolk hotel

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police say they arrested a man accused of having a meth lab in an Ocean View hotel room.

Around 11 p.m. Saturday, an off-duty officer working at the Ocean View Inn discovered three people in one of the hotel rooms with materials commonly used to produce meth. Police have not said what led the officer to that room.

Norfolk Fire Rescue, Norfolk Police Vice and Narcotic Detectives and the D.E.A all responded to the hotel in the 1000 block of Ocean View Avenue.

Detectives detained all three people in the room, but only charged one of them, a 24-year-old man, with manufacturing methamphetamines, possession of methamphetamines, and possession of two or more precursors-methamphetamines. He is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.

Police have not released the suspect’s name.

There were no injuries reported.
