Family displaced by house fire on Wyanoke Trail

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A family in Suffolk has been displaced after a fire burned down their home Monday.

Firefighters were called out to the residence in the 10000 block of Wyanoke Trail at 12:37 p.m. When crews arrived, they found flames coming from both stories of the home.

The flames were put out and a firefighter was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries and was ground transported to Sentara Obici Hospital.

No one was home at the time of the fire. The home was declared a total loss. The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

The two adults and four children that lived at the home are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
