Suspect arrested in Suntrust Bank robbery

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Police have arrested a man accused of robbing the Suntrust Bank on Victory Boulevard on Thursday.

Police announced Friday they arrested 48-year-old Leon A. Norman. He was charged with robbery and is currently being held in the Portsmouth City Jail.

Police say Norman handed the bank teller a note and fled with undisclosed amount of cash in a gold sedan.

There were no reported injuries.
