Police looking for suspect in York Bojangles’ robbery

YORK, Va. (WAVY) – Police are looking for a man they say robbed the Bojangles’ restaurant located at 8017 George Washington Highway.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Reports say the suspect grabbed the female night manager as she was leaving the restaurant and forced her back inside at gunpoint. When she was unable to access the safe, the suspect got angry and left.

The male suspect is stocky built, 5’9 to 6’1 and approximately 175 to 200 lbs. He was wearing a black long sleeve shirt with a blue short sleeve shirt over it, black pants and dark shoes. The suspect used a black stocking cap and a red and yellow bandanna to cover his head and face. He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

Police say he brought a small black backpack with a Redskins emblem to put the money in, but left it at the scene.

Police are looking for the car pictured, but aren’t sure it was involved with the crime.
