Restaurant damaged after morning fire

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.(WAVY) – Newport News firefighters have not determined an official cause for a Sunday morning fire at the Warwick Restaurant located at 12306 Warwick Blvd.

Newport News Assistant Fire Chief Robert Craft told WAVY.com the restaurant suffered fire damage to the kitchen and smoke damage through out the restaurant. Crews were dispatched out to the restaurant at 9:43 a.m. where they found  heavy smoke coming from the exhaust vent and from the left side of the structure. It took firefighters less than fifteen minutes to get the flames under control.

Although the business was open at the time of the fire, no injuries were reported.

The restaurant’s Facebook page said they will be closed until further notice and thanked everyone for their support.
