One person seriously injured in Suffolk crash

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – One person was seriously injured after they were involved in a crash Sunday night.

Suffolk Police and Fire and Rescue were dispatched around 8 p.m. to the 7600 block of South Quay Road for the single vehicle crash.

The vehicle involved left the roadway and struck a brick mailbox.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was flown by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

It is unknown at this time what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and the accident remains under investigation.
