HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) – Multiple incidents caused backups on Hampton Roads highways Thursday morning.
In Chesapeake, a vehicle fire on I-664NB at Dock Landing around 8:15 a.m. had traffic backing up to the I-64 interchange.
In Norfolk, police say an accident on I-264EB at the I-64 split just after 8 a.m. involved a motorcycle. There are injuries reported. This is affecting drivers coming from Norfolk headed toward Virginia Beach. WAVY News 10’s Jen Lewis recommends Virginia Beach Boulevard as an alternate route to get around the backup.
In Portsmouth, on I-264EB at mile marker 4.7 around the same time as the other incidents, drivers experienced major delays due to a crash. The east left shoulder and left lane were closed while police cleared the accident scene.
