PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth police tells WAVY.com they were assisting with taking someone into custody on Dinwiddie Street for a mental evaluation when the situation got a little complicated Thursday night.
Misty Holley with Portsmouth police said no direct threat was made but there was concern of weapons inside the home on Dinwiddie Street, near North Street, shortly before 11 p.m.
The SWAT team responded to ensure the safety of all involved. The individual was then taken into custody and is in the process of being evaluated.
No one was hurt.
