Virginia Zoo wants help naming baby giraffe

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Zoo wants the public to help name its newest giraffe.

The boy calf was born to five-time mother Imara and father Billy on July 23. The calf weighed 152 pounds and measured 75 inches.

There are fourteen names to choose from, including Sebastian, Gilbert, Neville, Jiffy, and Biggie Smalls. The complete list is on the zoo’s website.

The contest ends Sunday, September 6.

The public can visit the baby giraffe at the indoor giraffe exhibit in Africa.
