Portsmouth Police took Carl Holder, 32, of Chesapeake into custody shortly after they say he stabbed 40-year-old Elvin Elliot of Norfolk.

The two men got into a fight around 6:30 p.m. in the Farm Fresh on Victory Boulevard, then spilled into the parking lot, where Holder stabbed Elliott as he tried to run away, according to investigators.
