No injuries in fire at Portsmouth recycling plant

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — No one was injured in a fire at a Portsmouth recycling plant Saturday morning.

According to Portsmouth Fire Department spokesman Jim Hoffler, firefighters were called to WheelBrator Trash and Recycling Plant on Victory Blvd. around 6:44 a.m. for a fire that started inside a hopper.

Crews worked quickly and brought the fire under control in about 10 minutes.

Hoffler says no serious damage and no one was injured.
