NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters say there is a gas leak at the intersection of 34th Street and Llewellyn Avenue, Thursday.

Investigators say around 11:10 a.m. Thursday a backhoe hit a gas line while digging. First responders evacuated a home as a precaution and Llewellyn is blocked in that area while the leak is capped.

Crews are sampling the air to make sure it’s safe.

There have been no reported injuries.
