Shooting investigated in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake police are investigating a shooting late Monday night.

Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Parrish Street around 10:30 p.m. for a report of an injured person, according to Detective Dorienne Boykin, with the Chesapeake Police Department.

They found a man with a gunshot wound that did not appear to be life-threatening. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and then a second man with a gunshot wound arrived at the hospital on his own.

Boykin said the second man is believed to be a second victim of the shooting. His injuries were also not life-threatening.

Boykin said detectives have not figured out any suspect or motive information.
