Police investigate armed robbery at 7-11

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Investigators are looking for two suspects who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint early Sunday morning.

After an 911 call around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 7-11 on Cedar Lane in the Churchland area, according to Portsmouth Police Detective Misty Holley.

Detectives say two men armed with guns came into the store, demanded money from employees, then ran away. The employees complied with the suspects’ demands, and no one was hurt.

Police will be releasing surveillance video that captured the incident, Holley said.

In the meantime, anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers can remain anonymous, and may be eligible for a reward.
