NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police arrested a man accused of pistol-whipping a prostitute in North Carolina.

Investigators say John Murray III ordered the woman to his Greensboro apartment on July 25.

Court papers say there was a dispute over money. Then, he repeatedly hit the 19-year-old before sticking a gun in her mouth and pulling the trigger four times. The gun never went off.

Police say Murray then threw a computer monitor at the woman’s head, before taking her against her will to a neighboring city.

Murray is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping in Greensboro, N.C.
