Police investigate stabbing at Lafayette Park

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police arrested a man Tuesday for an afternoon stabbing at Lafayette Park.

Around 1:20 p.m., emergency dispatchers got a 911 call about a possible stabbing victim in the 3500 block of Granby Street. Police and fire-rescue crews found a man with some minor cuts. He was still transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

Investigators believe two men got into an argument that escalated: one man pulled out a knife and cut the victim, police say.

Police found the weapon at the scene and took a suspect into custody.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
