Deputies arrest alleged pizza robber in York County

Joshua Russell Ring

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Deputies with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office have arrested a teen accused of ordering pizza and then fleeing without paying.

According to deputies, 19-year-old Joshua Russell Ring ordered a Domino’s pizza for delivery at a vacant residence in the 100 block of Edwards Court. When the pizza delivery driver arrived, Ring appeared from the backyard and demanded the pizza. Deputies say Ring made it appear that he was reaching for a gun.

“People think that yeah he just stole a pizza, but at one point he reached behind his back which made the driver think that he was going to pull out a gun and rob him, and then he snatches the pizzas from him. People think that that may be a minor thing, but it’s still a robbery. He forcefully took something off of this person and he intimidated the person and the person actually was in fear,” Lt. Dennis Ivey told WAVY.com.

Ring is also accused of ordering and snatching a pizza at the same vacant residence back on July 30. In both cases he only took pizza.

He has been charged with robbery.
