Man charged in 2 Norfolk sexual assaults

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk detectives arrested a man last week, who has now been charged in two different sexual assault cases from the summer.

Leon Foreman Jr., 47, was arrested Thursday and charged with forcible sodomy, according to Corporal Melinda Wray, with the Norfolk Police Department.

The arrest comes a little less than a month after an alleged victim of Foreman reported a June 11 sexual assault in the 7000 block of Gregory Drive. Detectives investigated the claim and obtained an arrest warrant.

Foreman was taken to the Norfolk City Jail August 6, and two days later another victim reported having been sexually assaulted by Foreman on July 26 in the 7000 block of Gregory Drive. He was served charges for with forcible sodomy and object sexual penetration while in jail, where he remains without bond.

Because both assaults are still being investigated, detectives don’t want to release Foreman’s mug shot to the public.

Wray said both victims were adults, but that no further information is available, at this point in the investigation.
