Attention Kroger shoppers: $200 coupon is fake

Kroger posted this image on its Facebook page warning of a coupon scam.

Kroger is alerting its customers of a store coupon scam.

There is a “Save $200 when you spend $220 or more in one transaction” coupon in circulation on social media, according to a post on the company’s Facebook page Monday.

The post states:

This giveaway is not affiliated with or supported by the Kroger Co. in any way. We recommend not engaging with the site(s) that offer links to the coupon, or providing them with any personal information. Our team is actively working with Facebook and domain service providers to address the concern.

So, be warned, if you see this coupon and think it’s too good to be true, it is.

If you’ve already clicked on the coupon giveaway link, check your account for any unusual posts in groups or on pages.

In June, Kroger warned of a similar offer circulating on Facebook. In that case, the offer was for $100 off a $110 or more transaction.
