Alcohol-related charges against AJ Hadsell’s mother dismissed

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The mother of a Norfolk teen who went missing for more than six weeks had alcohol-related charges dropped.

Jennifer Hadsell had an adjudicatory hearing Monday where a judge dismissed a charge of buying alcohol for a minor under the age of 21 and second charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Her 18-year-old daughter, Anjelica Hadsell, disappeared March 2. Her body was found outside a home in Southampton County a month later. Norfolk’s Chief Medical Examiner determined she died from “acute heroin poisoning.”
