HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Dominion Virginia is helping residents make their homes more energy-efficient.
During the EnergyShare event Thursday volunteers helped a 72-year-old homeowner on Fulton Street insulate hot water pipes, install faucet aerators, seal ducts and weather strip doors and windows. Volunteers also installed a new heat pump at the home.
The event is part of a statewide effort to help people in need and to educate homeowners on energy efficiency.
Dominion Virginia Power also announced that beginning Sept. 1 they will expand its EnergyShare program in both funding and scope to provide financial assistance, weatherization services and educational outreach to more qualifying customers, including people living with disabilities and military veterans facing financial hardships.
