Child nearly drowns in Corolla

CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – A child was involved in a near-drowning incident in the 600 block of Saltspray Court in Corolla.

The Currituck County Fire Department confirmed that at 7 p.m. a crew was called out for a possible cardiac arrest where a 3-year-old boy was found. The family was on scene performing CPR.

Officials say the family reported the child went missing and they later found him in the pool.

Currituck county Ocean Rescue and Corolla Fire Department Station 6 assisted in the rescue. The child was airlifted via Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance. The child was reported breathing on his own when flown out.

The family is from Maryland.
