Man abducted, carjacked in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News police are looking for a man accused of abducting a man and then stealing his car.

Newport News police say the victim was leaving the Ameristop convenient store located at Beech and Main Street around 1 a.m. July 27 when he was approached by a man wearing dark clothing and a ski mask.

According to investigators, the man pointed a hand gun at the victim and demanded money. He then forced the victim into the passenger seat and drove him around in Newport News and Hampton threatening to kill him if he did not give him money.

Police say the suspect eventually forced the victim out of the car in Hampton and drove away with the car and the victim’s cell phone.

The vehicle is silver 2007 Dodge Charger with Virginia tags XUL9748.
