Black market DVDs off the streets in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — More than 100 DVDs being sold on the black market are now off the streets.

Police arrested Edward Barksdale after witnessing him making illegal transactions out of his car in front of the Old Town Market on Marshall Avenue.

Court documents say police found two bags with paper sleeves, as well as more than 100 copyright-protected DVDs that are still in theaters or not yet released for DVD purchase.

Police say they arrested Barksdale for the same crime at the same location in 2013.

Barksdale is charged with one count of possessing counterfeit DVDs for sale, one count of possessing recordings without the name and address of the manufacturer one count of trespassing.
