2 suspects on the loose in attempted armed robbery in Va. Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police are searching for two men accused of an attempted armed robbery at a Virginia Beach jewelry store.

Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department tells WAVY.com an attempted robbery was reported Thursday at 11:50 a.m. at the Ficarra Jewelers, located at 1081 Independence Blvd.

According to police, two masked gunman approached the jewelry store, one man went inside the store while the second stayed outside. The suspect inside then pulled a gun and a customer ran outside. Police say the suspect immediately ran out of the store and both suspects were last seen running in the back of the shopping center.

There were no injuries reported.

The first suspect is being described as 5’9 tall with a heavy build and was last seen wearing dark clothing. The second suspect is described as 5’7, weighing around 150 pounds and was also seen wearing dark clothing.
