PD: Man stole money in wallet to pay for groceries

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Virginia Beach are looking for a man they say stole money from a wallet that had been left behind at a store to pay for his groceries.

According to Virginia Beach police, on July 4 around 4:40 p.m., the man pictured above was approaching the checkout register at the Wal-Mart on Phoenix Drive when he picked up a wallet that had been forgotten by a previous customer. The suspect then took cash from the wallet to pay for his groceries and walked out of the store with the wallet.

Police say he then left the parking lot in the white Ford Expedition. The suspect is described as a black male, between 25-30 years of age, 5’10”-5’6” tall and weighing around 180 pounds.
