Hundreds worth of lottery tickets stolen in burglary

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Deputies in Southampton County are investigating a burglary where hundreds worth of lottery tickets were stolen from a business in Drewryville.

Detective Camden Cobb with the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies responded Monday to a convenience store in the 12000 block of Southampton Parkway for a report of a broken window.

When deputies arrived, they discovered someone threw a rock at the window to gain access and lottery tickets valued at $1,753 had been stolen.

Cobb said one suspect was captured on surveillance camera. The suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves.
