Woman sentenced after 2014 hotel murder

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A woman was sentenced to 17 years in prison here Friday after a Norfolk Circuit Court jury found her guilty of a second-degree murder she committed at a Virginia Beach hotel.

Rashanda Walker will be required to serve her sentence plus three years of post-release supervision for the February 2014 death of 25-year-old Alfonso Creekmore.

After Walker killed Creekmore, a passerby found his body behind the M-Star Hotel on the 7900 block of Shore Drive. Walker turned herself in to police the next day.

While police have not released any information about the circumstances of Creekmore’s death, his family members told 10 On Your Side they thought it might be because Creekmore had recently ended a relationship with Walker.

“He’s 25 and she 40-something years old,” said Eugenia Creekmore, the victim’s mother. “She went looking for him. She already told me, ‘if I couldn’t have him, nobody else could.’”
