Woman pleads guilty in murder of Carter’s furniture store owner

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — One of the three suspects accused in the death of a Suffolk business owner has pleaded guilty.

Court documents show, Naomi Lambert admitted to her involvement in the death of Donald Carter.

On July 8, Lambert pled guilty to second degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Carter owned a furniture store on Washington Street, near downtown. Police say he was shot outside his business last September.

Police also charged Leon Hayes and Katron Walker in the case.
