Portsmouth Police seek ATM mugging suspect

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Detectives with Portsmouth Police Department are investigating a morning robbery Saturday that occurred on the 50 block of Afton Parkway on the street.

Timothy S JenkinsAccording to detectives, the adult male victim was walking in the area of Gillis Road and Prospect Parkway when 24-year-old Timothy S. Jenkins approached the victim.Jenkins pulled out a gun and demanded money. The victim said he didn’t have any and the suspect forced the victim to the nearby Neighborhood Market ATM to withdraw cash. The victim complied with the demand and Jenkins got away on foot with money. The victim was not injured.

Jenkins is described as a black, 5-foot-8, short black hair, thin mustache and chin hair. He was last seen wearing a tan shirt, blue shorts with a white stripe on the side and black shoes. He is believed to frequent the Cradock area of Portsmouth.

Jenkins currently has active warrants on file for robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, abduction and kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
