NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police confirm there were no injuries after they fired a shot at a charging dog during the execution of a search warrant, Thursday morning.
Shortly before 6:30 a.m., Norfolk Police Special Operations Team and Vice and Narcotic Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of West 28th Street.
As officers entered the home, they were confronted by a large dog who charged aggressively toward them, according to Norfolk police. An officer fired one shot at the charging dog and the animal quickly retreated back. Police confirmed the dog was not harmed.
Norfolk police said firearms and narcotics were recovered inside the home and three people were detained for questioning.
No further information has been released.
