NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A contractor hit a 6-inch water main on Plume Street in Norfolk Thursday morning.
According to Harry Kenyon with Norfolk Public Utilities, crews responded to the scene around 11:30 a.m. to shutdown the main so the contractor could repair the break.
The water main affected the 200 block of Plume St. and the 100 block of Granby St. on the east side, Kenyon said.
The repair was made and water was turned back on shortly after 2 p.m. There was no detouring needed during this incident since the roadway was already closed for construction, said Kenyon.
