Man charged for theft from temple in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police have aurrested for a man accused of stealing a computer from a temple in Norfolk.

Investigators say the suspect pictured above entered the Beth El Temple during service and stole a computer inside the Rabbi’s office. The theft occurred June 20, during that night’s service, at the temple located at 422 Shirley Avenue.

The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Ervin E. Powell. He was arrested for burglary and grand larceny. He was taken into custody Thursday night for the breaking into a home on Kempsville Road.
