Rabies alert issued for Va. Beach neighborhood

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The health department in Virginia Beach have issued a rabies alert for the Ocean Lakes neighborhood.

Investigators say a raccoon got into a fight with two dogs. That raccoon tested positive for rabies and has since died.

WAVY.com was told it happened Monday on Gunn Hall Drive off General Booth Boulevard.

If your pet has been exposed to any wild animals in this area within the past few weeks, call the health department.
