PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A well known restaurant in Olde Towne Portsmouth is closing.
Brutti’s will permanently stop serving customers this weekend. The last meal will be Brutti’s famous Sunday Buffet Brunch on Father’s Day.
Brutti’s has been at the current site since 2000, and is well known for the famous Bagelnutz, which owner Charles Greenhood says he will continue producing.
“There certainly has been a shift in the way people spend money,” Greenhood told WAVY.com. “When we first started out in 2000, for dinner people were spending money on food and drink, but now they only spend money on drink … I’m sad about it, but it’s part of the business cycle.”
Greenhood would not say much more than that, but there will be no more live concerts at the upstairs venue at Brutti’s. Greenhood said his catering business will continue to operate.
