Newport News Fire Department investigating possible vehicle arson

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Fire officials are investigating after a vehicle was found up in flames in Newport News.

Crews were called out to Old Fort Eustis Boulevard and Old Stable Road for a report of a vehicle on fire, June 5 around 3:45 a.m.

When crews arrived they found a Chrysler PT Cruiser on fire.

Newport News Fire Department Bat. Chief Stephen Pincus says investigators believe the fire was set intentionally.

The damage is said to be $5,000.
