Stabbing in Norfolk leaves man dead

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Detectives have charged a man with second degree murder after a 71-year-old man was found stabbed to death on Grove Avenue, early Tuesday morning.

Police were dispatched to the 9300 block of Grove Avenue for reports of a stabbing, shortly before 2 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found David G. McDonald of Norfolk dead.

Detectives later arrested and charged 48-year-old Matthew T. Mangus with second degree murder.

Police have not released a motive for this crime.
