RV catches fire; spreads to neighboring house

HAMPTON, Va (WAVY) –  An early morning fire in Hampton that started in an RV spread to a nearby house, Tuesday.

Shortly after midnight, Hampton Fire and Rescue responded to the fire located in the 300 block of West Pembroke Avenue, across the street from the fire station.  The RV was on fire and had spread to the second story of the house next door.

The fire caused moderate damage to the second story of the home. Fire officials say the home appeared to be unoccupied. No injuries were reported.

The fire was extinguished around 1:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
