Portsmouth police investigating cell phone store robbery

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Detectives are investigating a cell phone store robbery Sunday that occurred in the 4000 block of Victory Boulevard.

Portsmouth police received the call at 4:06 p.m. requesting help at a Cricket Wireless store. According to detectives, the suspect entered the business with a handgun and demanded money from the store employees. The employees complied with the suspect’s demands and he fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 30’s, 5 foot 10 and 180 to 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue short sleeve T-shirt, gray track pants, gray mirrored sunglasses and a gray baseball cap.
