Police: Local woman’s disappearance suspicious

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — There’s growing concern about a Virginia Beach woman who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Chesapeake police say they believe the disappearance of 43-year-old Brianna Armstrong is suspicious.

She was last seen around 7:30 p.m. May 7 at a home on Mark Street in the Providence Terrace neighborhood. Police say Armstrong told someone she was going to go to Virginia Beach, but never made it to her destination.

It wasn’t until May 9 that someone reported Armstrong missing. Chesapeake police would not release the name of the reporting party.

On May 13, Virginia Beach police found Armstrong’s car abandoned in a retail parking lot in the 500 block of Newtown Road, near Baker Road. When the car was found, the keys were in the ignition, the doors were unlocked and Armstrong’s wallet and shoes were recovered.

Chesapeake police say the vehicle remains in their impound lot, where it will be searched and vetted, as part of their investigation.

10 On Your Side did try to reach out to Armstrong’s husband, Corey Creek, for an on-camera interview. He declined the request.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Armstrong is asked to call the Chesapeake Police Department at 757-382-6161.
