Dump truck hits power lines in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A dump truck hit power lines at Dam Neck Road and Landstown Court Tuesday around 11:30 a.m..

WAVY viewers sent back pictures from the scene, which show the truck had its bed up which caught the power lines.

There are no injuries reported, according to police.

According to Dominion Virginia Power, the accident knocked out power to 2,747 customers. Power was restored to 1210 customers almost immediately. By 12:45, all but 10 customers were back in business. Dan Genest with Dominion said it will take several more hours before power is restored to those final customers. They have to wait until the pole is replaced.
