VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A former school security assistant will spend two months in jail for having sex with a 15-year-old student.

A judge sentenced Patience Perez Monday morning. She is to have no contact with the victim’s family and must register as a sex offender.

Perez pleaded guilty last year in Virginia Beach to one count of taking indecent liberties with the student. The charges involved meeting the victim at his Virginia Beach home. Perez was fired in March 2013 from Renaissance Academy in Virginia Beach.

Earlier this month, we learned Perez would not spend any time in jail for her sex crimes in Norfolk. The judge gave her three years probation because of her good behavior.

Perez is set to begin her sentence May 25.
