Suspects in custody after pursuit, crash in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A police pursuit ended in a crash near the intersection of Chesapeake Boulevard and Robin Hood Road after a vehicle was reported stolen, Saturday evening.

Norfolk police say they spotted a suspicious vehicle in the 6200 block of Chesapeake Boulevard, around 9 p.m. Officers ran a DMV check and discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen.

The car refused to stop, leading police on a short pursuit. The chase ended when the car struck a utility pole.

Police say the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. Three of the four occupants were taken into custody. After being medically cleared, the males were transported to the Police Operations Center.

The investigation is still ongoing and charges are currently pending.
