FRISCO, N.C. (WAVY) — Deputies have arrested a tackle shop employee accused of stealing money from the business whenever someone showed up with a winning lottery ticket.
Deputies with the Dare County Sheriff’s Office say 41-year-old Jermaine Joseph Lopez, who worked at a local tackle shop in Frisco, was taking extra money from the register when anyone came in with a winning ticket. Deputies say Lopez was making it look like the total payout was to the person who had come in.
According to investigators, these type transactions had taken place numerous times.
Lopez was charged with larceny by employee. He has since bonded out of jail.
