Truck crashes into City of Norfolk lawn mower, 1 injured

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — One person was injured after a truck collided with a City of Norfolk lawn mower, Thursday morning.

Norfolk police say the crash happened near the intersection of Raleigh Avenue and Colonial Avenue, shortly after 7 a.m.

According to investigators, a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling behind two city lawn mowers and attempted to pass them, but one of the mowers attempted to make a left turn on Raleigh Avenue and collided with the truck.

The man operating the mower was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup was not injured and remained on scene. The second mower was not struck during the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
