NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A school bus accident was reported near 21st Street and Colley Avenue in Norfolk, Wednesday morning.
Norfolk police said the school bus was struck by an SUV that failed to yield the right of way. According to detectives, around 8 a.m., the bus was heading eastbound on W. 21st Street when it was struck by the SUV that was traveling northbound on Colley Avenue.
Both drivers were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There were kids on board, but none were injured. However, medics checked out a couple of kids as a precaution.
The bus was heading to Blair Middle School.
The driver of the SUV has been charged with failure to obey highway sign.
