Godwin Bridge reopens after multi-vehicle crash

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Officials briefly closed the Godwin Bridge in both directions after a three-vehicle accident, Wednesday morning.

Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 2200 block of Bridge Road, around 6:22 a.m.

All three drivers, two men and a woman, were ground transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no passengers in the vehicles.

The roadway was closed for a short time while crews cleared debris from the roadway.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
